What are the prevailing kayak hire prices in 2024?

Kayak hire companies often use different pricing methods, so it can sometimes be difficult to understand the prices.

Kayaking is a very popular activity among Lithuanians, but prices for this service vary. In this study, I will compare kayak hire prices across different ethnographic regions. To make price comparisons easier, I will use the simplest possible methodology.

Research methodology:

The price measured is for a one-day trip in a two-seater kayak. No discounts are taken into account. No transport costs are taken into account. Other additional costs are also not taken into account. VAT is not included. Prices have been checked only on active websites where prices are clearly stated. Where there is a range of prices, the highest value is selected.

The rivers have been selected on a subjective basis. We have attempted to select 3–4 main rivers from the specified region. If you have any suggestions or can provide updated information on prices, please write to info@upemis.lt.

Let’s start with the rivers. The cheapest place to go kayaking is on the Šešupė River. Kayak hire companies charge the most for trips on the Vilnelė River. The average prices for all rivers fall within the range of 19 to 38 euros.

An analysis of the regions shows where people are willing to spend the most money on this activity. In Suvalkija, you’ll pay an average of 31.5 euros for a trip in a two-seater kayak, excluding additional costs. In Dzūkija, however, you can do so for around €7 less.
