Rivers and routes
How to browse Lithuania's rivers, routes and locations in the upemis.lt catalogue — filters, difficulty, water level.
On this page
The catalogue has three layers: the river, the route and the operator. The river describes the waterway, the route is a specific stretch with a start, a finish and a duration, and the operator is whoever rents out that stretch.
Rivers
The river list shows the rivers where there is something to book this season. A river page has a description, a map, the routes and the operators working on that river.
We maintain the river descriptions and the shared maps. An operator edits their own routes, not the river page.
Routes
The route list is the main search tool for booking. You can filter routes by:
- region
- difficulty (from–to)
- length (from–to)
- operator
They can be sorted by length, difficulty or duration. Each page shows 10 routes.
A route page has a description, photos, instructions, the meeting point and a link to the calendar. Only published routes are shown in the public catalogue — travellers do not see drafts.
Difficulty
The difficulty rating is a scale used by operators and our catalogue, not the international whitewater (WW) classification. If you are paddling for the first time, choose a lower difficulty and a calmer river. In spring the same river can be an entirely different one, so it is worth checking the water level.
Locations
If you are searching by municipality or ethnographic region, start from locations. There you will find counties, municipalities and regions along with the rivers and routes in each area.
Water level
Before the weekend it is worth checking the water level. Station readings help you judge whether a river currently suits your experience — especially in spring, when the current and obstacles change quickly.
Operators
The operator catalogue lists the operators themselves rather than routes. That is useful when you already know who you want to paddle with.
If you are looking for your own company page in order to claim it, see How to claim your page.
